Keep the Core Clean – Clarifying Points for Bjorn Goerkes Keynote

If you attended the keynote at SAP TechEd in Barcelona (or watched online), then you heard Björn Goerke, SAP’s CTO and president of SAP Cloud Platform, hammer home the point of “keep the core clean.” (If you missed the keynote, check out the replay.) Are you feeling shy about posting in the Community? Do you just read and absorb instead? Do you worry that you don’t have knowledge to share that will interest anyone here? You probably have more to share than you think, but overcoming that mental barrier can be difficult. You have to be willing to open yourself up to contribute, and that can be intimidating. In this blog post, Audrey Stevenson offers three small things you can do to get started. Also, be sure to read DJ Adam’s blog on blogging.

SAP Community Calls

Soft skills (or human-skills or people-skills) are often overlooked by individuals, but certainly not by employers. Hiring managers and recruiters specifically call out interpersonal skills such as communication, collaboration and time management as skills they look for in candidates joining their teams. If you’ve been following the Coach’s Corner blog series, you’re hopefully already benefiting from these weekly posts where coaches share their knowledge and practical advice on topics such as empathy, active listening, stress and change management. We’re continuing our focus on raising awareness of soft skills and helping our SAP Community members increase their emotional intelligence so that we can build stronger relationships and stronger communities.
